The story behind the can

Drinking chocolate in its purest form of raw cacao has never been readily available: until now!

When we first learned about cacao at an ecstatic dance class in Brighton, we questioned why we could not find the feel-good energy and rich chocolatey taste anywhere else. 

Raw cacao had changed our perception of chocolate as ‘unhealthy’ forever, and we had to share the news. 

Prior to adding refined sugars in the process to make chocolate, raw cacao has incredible benefits for body and mind.

We knew we had to go further than simply adding cacao powder to capture the best possible taste and natural nutritional content: we use unprocessed, ceremonial-grade raw cacao mass.

Our raw cacao drink contains just five, all-natural ingredients for a delicious, healthy experience, whether it’s in the office or on the go.

questions

Our cacao is exclusively Peruvian Criollo bean, which is ceremonial quality. Our suppliers only work with organic cacao beans, and help train and certify farmers to work to the standards specified by European organic certification bodies. This results in fewer harmful pesticides and fertilisers being used in the rainforest. Our suppliers promote education and sustainable farming for the reduction of deforestation in the Amazon by running workshops for farmers in their local area.

Caffeine content in cacao is minimal. The energy effects that can be experienced come from cacao's Theobromine and Magnesium content.

Cacao is minimally processed, retains more nutrients, and has a stronger, often slightly bitter, flavour due to no refined sugars being added to it. Cocoa is more heavily processed; including roasting at higher temperatures and added sugar, resulting in a milder, sweeter flavour and a lighter colour, but also lower levels of beneficial compounds.
